Services Offered

  1. Used oil disposal - we provide our customers, as an option, a properly sized tank to store their used oil in, put that customer on a schedule so that the oil is retrieved from the container on a regular basis, test the oil to assure that it is not contaminated with hazardous materials and then take the oil to either Santee-Cooper Power for the production of electricity or to a certified recycling facility. Upon receipt of this container you will be advised on how to properly place it and how to construct the required containment for compliance reasons.

  1. Used oil filter disposal - all filters that we pick up are processed in our shop so that they can be taken to a metal recycler, not dumped in a landfill for future generations to deal with. That process includes providing the customer with the appropriate container(s), servicing that container, picking up and transporting the filters to our shop, squeezing the oil out of them at over 40,000 psi and then loading them again on our truck to be transported to the recycler.

  1. Used anti-freeze disposal – again, we provide the container for our customer to store the used product in, pick the product up and transport it to the appropriate recycling facility. None of the products we pick up from our customers is ever “disposed of” in the literal sense. It is always recycled.

  1. DHEC compliance inspections – Saf-Way Recycler offers a range of compliance inspection services from bi-annual oil separator inspections to a multi point full facility inspection. Each inspection is performed by a trained representative and is followed up by a written summary detailing the results of the inspection. This can be an invaluable document to have on file in the case of a ‘surprise’ visit from your local DHEC inspector. Depending on the service package you choose these inspections can be done at regular intervals or on a “call in” basis.

  1. Accidental release response and clean up – in the event that petroleum products are accidentally spilled or released into the environment, Saf-Way is fully trained and prepared to assist you in getting it cleaned up. We have all the necessary equipment and supplies to contain and remove the product and to remediate the property where the release occurred. We also remove underground storage tanks (UST) for businesses and residences. We own our own Vac truck, backhoe and dump trucks which allow us to keep the costs for these types of jobs competitive while not exposing the customer to untrained sub-contractors and the problems they can sometimes cause.

  1. Emergency Response – Saf-Way is on South Carolina DHEC’s list of contractors which offer emergency response and clean up services. (see http://www.scdhec.gov/lwm/html/contractor.html) We are equipped to respond to most petroleum based incidents within a seventy five mile radius. In the past we have assisted in both marine and land based emergency incidents. Our working relationship with DHEC and local authorities on these types of jobs is outstanding.
